Critique of The Bachelorette (Season 19)

Image
Disclaimer: The following content may contain spoilers from The Bachelorette  (Season 19) For season 19 of The Bachelorette, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia both embarked on a journey to find love. This is the first time in Bachelor Nation history that there are two leads who will appear for the entire season. At the beginning of the season, the show had both of the ladies compete for the same men by making them pick from the same pool of men. As you can expect, this can cause a lot of tension between the women if they both fall for the same guy. I personally did not enjoy seeing this lack of structure. Although I do believe the men should have a fair chance at seeing which bachelorette they clicked more with, I feel as if they were playing the field for too long. I also think this setup unintentionally gave the men power over the leads. It was really degrading to see The Bachelorette choose a man and then the man says “Oh, I can't date you. I like the other lead more.” As a ...

The Best Anime on Netflix

Image
The Best Anime on Netflix I recently had an interview with an anime enthusiast named Austin. What Austin appreciates most about anime is that “it allows shows to go beyond boundaries a typical show would have. It pulls on your heartstrings and makes you think about your life choices. You will get feelings in anime that you will never get in any other kind of show.” I asked him what he believes is the best Netflix anime and he chose the anime Erased. Erased Erased is based around Satoru Funjinuma, a 29-year-old man living in Chiba. He has the ability to go back in time before a life-threatening incident which gives him the opportunity to prevent it from ever happening. Satoru has the ability to not only save his mother from being murdered but prevent his three childhood friends from being kidnapped.  Below I have listed the reasons why Austin thinks Erased is one of the best animes on Netflix: The Deeper Meaning One of the reasons Austin believes Erased is one of t...

Who is Thomas Stoneham-Judge?

Image
Thomas Stoneham-Judge Thomas Stoneham-Judge is the founder & EIC of ForReel, which provides reviews, interviews, & festival coverage of movies & TV. He is also a member of the Seattle Film Critics Society and is in the critic spotlight for Rotten Tomatoes. Thomas grew up on Whidbey Island and went to college at Washington State University where he got a Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Since 2018, he has been covering content on films and festivals. Thomas enjoys talking to actors, filmmakers, and industry professionals about their work in making movies. Being in the film industry has allowed him to constantly learn new things and be open to new experiences. I believe networking with actors, filmmakers, and industry professionals helped Thomas Stoneham-Judge reach the position they are in. I also think a key part of his success was being open to new experiences and constantly learning new things. Below is a partial sample of one of his reviews: Lizzo’s Watch Out...

Outer Banks While combating a social class divide between the “Kooks” (wealthy residents) and “Pogues” (working-class residents in the outer banks of North Carolina, a group of teens set out on a treasure hunt which could be linked to John B’s (A member of the group) missing father. Atypical Atypical centers around 18-year-old Sam Gardner who happens to be on the autism spectrum. In this series, Sam is trying to find his independence by going to school, living alone, and figuring out his love life. The Circle In the Circle, players are isolated in their own apartments and their only form of communication with each other is online. They may play as themselves or pretend to be someone else. The goal is to be ranked high enough to make it to the end where they could be crowned the ultimate winner. The Bachelor (Season 27) Prediction

Image
Disclaimer: The following content may contain spoilers for The Bachelor (Season 27) The Bachelor begins with a single bachelor dating roughly 30 women and each week he will eliminate a few. By the end of the season, he will have only a couple women left and will propose to the one who he believes could be his future wife. The bachelor for season 27 is Zach Shallcross who is the nephew of Patrick Warburton. As of week 6, the ladies left on the show are Gabi, Kaity, Brooklyn, Kat, Ariel, Charity, and Greer. Shows similar to the bachelor include The Bachelorette, Too Hot To Handle, Bachelor in Paradise, Love Island, etc. The predictions for this season are tough because I think he has great connections with all the women. From day one, I have always thought Greer would make it to the end. She makes him laugh, and you can see there is a sense of comfort when they talk. Greer also received the first impression rose from Zach (It’s a rose given out the very first night to a woman who ha...

Is The Perfect Match Worth Watching?

Image
Disclaimer: The content mentioned may contain spoilers for the Netflix show "The Perfect Match" The Perfect Match is a Netflix TV show where individuals enter a villa and try to form romantic connections. These individuals are previously featured on other Netflix shows (The Circle, Love Is Blind, Too Hot To Handle, etc.). They are tested as a couple in “compatibility challenges” and the reward is a private date and they get the power to introduce two new people into the villa. This show is similar to Bachelor in Paradise and Love Island. Personally, I do not believe this show is worth watching, and here are the reasons why: 90% of the couples on the show did not have a genuine connection. Maybe it was the show edit but it did not seem like enough time to truly find your ”perfect match.”  I also found it weird that the show made the contestants room with their matches that they just met that day. Maybe I’m old fashion, but I would find it extremely awkward to sleep next...
