The Best Anime on Netflix

I recently had an interview with an anime enthusiast named Austin. What Austin appreciates most about anime is that “it allows shows to go beyond boundaries a typical show would have. It pulls on your heartstrings and makes you think about your life choices. You will get feelings in anime that you will never get in any other kind of show.” I asked him what he believes is the best Netflix anime and he chose the anime Erased.

Erased

Erased is based around Satoru Funjinuma, a 29-year-old man living in Chiba. He has the ability to go back in time before a life-threatening incident which gives him the opportunity to prevent it from ever happening. Satoru has the ability to not only save his mother from being murdered but prevent his three childhood friends from being kidnapped.

The Deeper Meaning

One of the reasons Austin believes Erased is one of the best amines on Netflix is because of the deeper meaning. He said “A lesson you can take away from this anime is that one person can make a difference and a small act of kindness can go a long way. The show proves this lesson through a butterfly or Pay-it-forward effect of Satoru lending a pair of mittens to another who doesn’t have much. This act of kindness leads to so much more than warming their hands.”

Suspense

Another reason is because of the suspense. Austin believes “Erased does a great job at being suspenseful and keeping you on your toes. The end of each episode leaves you wondering what will happen next and it's impossible to guess how the show ends.”
