Problem with Disney Plus
Reasons to Avoid Disney Plus
Not Enough Original Content
Although Disney plus provide us with all the classic movies/shows
we grew up watching, it's not enough to keep the viewer engaged. Disney plus lacks
a variety of original content which makes it hard to keep a fresh catalog of
content. Because of this, it's not to sustain a monthly subscription.
Content Is Split Across Hulu
Hulu and Disney plus are both owned by Disney. In order to
enjoy all of the content, you may need to subscribe to both streaming services.
Disney plus costs $7.99/month while Hulu costs $5.99/month. To subscribe to
both of these streaming services, it’ll costs $14 which is a lot to pay per
month.
Episodes Don’t Arrive Simultaneously
Most Disney plus original shows arrive weekly rather than
all at once. This makes it harder to binge-watch an entire show in one sitting
unless you wait for every episode to come out before you start to watch it.
Premier Access Is Expensive
If you don’t have premier access and only pay the $7.99/month
for Disney Plus, you will not have access to new releases that debut in
theaters. Disney puts a paywall on this type of content which costs $29.99 and
is charged per movie.
Some Missing Features and App Bugs
Disney Plus is still fairly new so there are missing
features and app bugs to work through.
An example of a missing feature is to automatically take off
shows/movies from your continued
watching. If you back out of a movie before the credits, it’ll more than likely
stay on your “continued watching.”
As for app bugs, Disney plus is known for issues when originally
downloading the app. It’ll say there is no internet connection and will refuse
to work until you back out of the app.
