Books vs Movies/Tv Shows Debate
Are Books Better Than Movies/TV Shows?
A popular debate that has been around for centuries is whether books are better than movies/TV shows. Both options are popular forms of entertainment and they each provide a different experience. Today, I will be comparing the pros and cons of each option and to keep it fair, I will only be referencing books that have been adapted into movies/TV shows.
Books
Pros
It can get more into depth.
The scenes are described in more detail
There are more plot-setting scenes
The reader can actively use their imagination
The plot can be followed by how the author intended it to be
Cons
It can be a huge time commitment
The middle of the book can drag out
Dialogues can be unrealistic in books but can come to life
on a tv screen
Movies/TV shows
Pros
Less time commitment
You can watch a movie/TV show with the company
Less concentration so there is less of a need for imagination
The Art of Acting
Cons
Scenes are deleted for adapted
Viewers may be left with questions since scenes are deleted
or adapted
Characters drastically change
Now, whether books are better than movies/TV shows is up for
interpretation. What are your thoughts? Do you think books are better than
movies/TV shows? If so, why?
I am honestly 50/50 when it comes to this debate. If I had to
pick a side, I would say I lean towards movies/TV shows just for the simplicity
of it. Your brain does not have to work as hard and it's less of a time commitment.
